Perhaps I am still living in the past. Or maybe somehow or other I have just missed the bus on all the "politically correct" advancements that have been made in our country in the past few decades.
What is wrong with traditional marriage between a man and a woman or a two parent home?
What is wrong with a home where dad is the primary wage earner when possible?
What is wrong with Dad leading the way in spiritual matters in the home and in discipline of children when discipline is called for?
What is wrong with prayer in public places when a person wishes to pray?
What is wrong with worshiping God in a traditional church, even singing traditional songs if the church body chooses to do so?
What is wrong with a church holding fast to time tested doctrines which have been believed, preached, and practiced in their church for generations?
What is wrong with believing the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God?
What is wrong with a man treating a woman like a lady, especially his own wife?
What is wrong with a woman and wife respecting and following the leadership of her husband in family decisions?
When did it become improper for a man to stand to give a lady a seat or even to open a door for her?
My Dad taught me to stand up when a lady approached. Now why is that still not a good thing to do?
I have now lived long enough to have witnessed both a traditional life style and the newer life style as often practiced today. Just for what it's worth, I like the older more traditional ways better.
How about this? If modern manners, customs, and lifestyles please you better, I won't try to interfere with your lifestyle. But in exchange I would ask you to allow me to hold on to the more traditional ways of thinking, acting, worshiping and living.
For me traditional homes, churches and manners are still pleasing. Yes, I know my outdated ideas sound laughable to some. But, I am getting older so please just smile a superior smile, and let me live my old traditional way.
America became a great nation when traditional ways were more common.
Are we becoming a greater nation as we become more politically correct? Perhaps we need to learn by looking back for a while. Maybe our old traditional parents weren't such dummies after all.
