Glad to see the snow and ice leave

Sympathy to Corrine Melton in the death of her brother, Omner Jones of Murfreesboro. His funeral was at Jennings and Ayers on Sunday, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. Corrine’s son, Stan Melton of Chicago, came and spent the weekend with her and took her to the funeral.

 

Sue Arnold visited Donald and Barbara Lawson on Saturday.

 

Louise Jones spent a few days in DeKalb Community Hospital with her heart bothering her.

 

Valerie Mears visited her mother, Mabel Pack Saturday.

 

Mark Violet spent the weekend in Lawrenceburg with his children. Their grandfather had passed away. He attended the funeral.

 

Jewell Wiser visited Rebecca Ervin.

 

Sympathy is extended to the family of Marie Robinson in her death after an extended illness.

 

Bro. Bobby Hale of Watertown preached at New Home Baptist Church on Sunday. He did a good job. We were glad to have him and his wife and baby at New Home.

 

Recent visitors of Betty Wilson were Ralph and June Vaughn, Faye Adkins, Rebecca Ervin, JoAnn Pittman, Douglas Ervin and his granddaughter, Charlee Mac Winfree, and Betty Byford.

 

It was so good to see the ice and snow leave. We appreciate the salt trucks and the ones that scrapes the road through here. And the ones who work so hard to keep our electricity going through the cold nights and days.

 

Dot Rogers and some more were dinner guests of Pat Walls Sunday after church. Dot said John Walls, her nephew, stopped by every evening after work and brought in her mail while it was icy. Thanks for people being so kind.

 

Get well wishes to David Terrell. He was involved in an accident. He was carried to Centennial Hospital.
