Congratulations to Sue Cook, her name was drawn on WJLE Nov. 19 for two dinner baskets from Bumpers. Sue and Johnnie Ruth Hunt were guests with Billy and Mary Jane Hooper for lunch Saturday to celebrate Sue’s birthday. I hope she has many more.
Kenneth and Lucy Young spent a few days in Texas visiting relatives.
Jerry Snow of Nashville visited his mother, Martha Snow, Tuesday morning and ate breakfast with her. He was on his way to Spencer Mountain to join his retired police buddies to go camping for a few days. They do this once a year.
Jewell Wiser and Regena Daw visited Rebecca Ervin Friday.
Evelyn Hodges spent Thursday with Fay Adkins.
Regena and Nicolas Daw and Fay Adkins went to Cookeville to go shopping on Saturday.
Mabel Pack went with Carlon and Jeanette Mabe to McMinnville Friday. They went to the Craft Fair at the Civic Center. Then they went shopping and ate at Captain D’s.
Visitors of Betty Wilson were Betty Byford, Dianne Evans, Ralph Vaughn and JoAnn Pittman.
Valerie Mears visited Mabel Pack Friday.
Jean Patton visited Ruth Sutton Sunday.
Bobby Self at Oklahoma City flew here to be with his mother, Barbara Self. He stayed at her home for the day. His Aunt Irene Kosicas of Florida was there, too. They all went to Kilgore’s Restaurant for lunch. Barbara is much improved she has been taking therapy and hopes to be able to go home soon.
The “Prime Timers” from The New Life Pentecostal Church went to the Art Center Saturday evening at Woodbury. After the show they all ate at the Pizza Den. Michelle Walker is the director and Billie Simpson is a member.
On Sunday Billie Simpson’s family had a get-together at the home of her sister, Faye Armstrong. There were 37 present. The younger couples brought lunch for everyone. There was plenty of food and the fellowship was great. This was the late Edgar Anderson’s family.
I got a call today from my cousin, Bob Cantrell, of McMinnville. The Cantrell Family had a get-together at Bybee Branch Church Sunday. I wish I could have been with my relatives but I don’t get out much. I still go to church at New Home and will as long as I’m able.
Thomas Hale preached at New Home Sunday. He did a good job. We were glad to have him and his wife and son with us.
Mabel Pack went with Phillip and Sue Close on Monday to Woodbury Funeral Home to see David Vanatta and be with his family in their time of sorrow. They ate at Kilgore’s Restaurant on their way home.
