Homecoming was held at New Home Baptist Church Sept. 18. Bro. Virgil Hibdon Jr. brought a wonderful message. We had good singing and plenty of food in the fellowship hall.
We were all shocked at the sudden death of one of our members, Emma Jean Arnold. She had a heart attack.
Betty Byford visited me on Thursday. I enjoy talking to her. She told me she had 123 entries in the Warren County Fair, she won 92 ribbons. It’s amazing what all that woman can do. She enjoys visiting the elders and giving them vegetables and things that she cooks.
Congratulations to her brother Dannie Neal. He works at Walmart. He was recognized as associate over his group.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Ione Ellis in her passing away we were school friends at Cave Spring in first grade and Snow Hill School for the last four years of school.
Visitors of Fay Adkins Friday night were Martie Gilbert, Jean Young and her friend, Linda Grant of Nashville. They came on Sunday and spent a few days. She came to church on Sunday with Faye.
Mabel Pack recieved a call from her sister Elsie Fergerson of Australia. She is always glad to hear from home.
Queda Ferrell along with several women from Whorton Springs Church, went to Crossville and spent the day, Thursday.
Visitors of Barbara Self were Irene Kocsis of Florida and Barbara Burton.
Get-well wishes go to Gladys Curtis. She fell at home and broke some bones. She is a patient in DeKalb Community Hospital.
Billy and Mary Jane Hooper and Sue Cook were the dinner guests of Johnnie Ruth Hunt, Sunday, after church.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Hawkins, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hawkins and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Croslin went to the Red Boiling Springs Car Show last weekend. Ken won second place for his rambler, and third place for his 1949 Mercury. Ronnie won second place for his 1972 Chevy.
Sunday lunch guest of LuAutry Malone were Randy and Natasha Ellie Vaughn of Alexandria, Wanda Tramel of Crossville, Charlie, Rita, Sydney Robinson of Liberty, Chad Curtis, Miles Malone, Jeff and Jaylene Vanatta, Rawlin and Jessie Vanatta, Jorden Melton, Saprena Hale and Peggy Agiee.
Visiting her earlier was Joyce Wright of Murfreesboro. She spent Friday and Saturday night. They ate at the White Possum Grill each night. The food was delicious.
