We are told in the Bible about how God loves us unconditionally.  There is no way that I fully understand that, but I believe it and accept it.  I am amazed and thankful with how so many people show kindness to me.
Sure, I have my family and they help me in every way that is needed.  But I have friends who are not related who treat me like I am kin.
There are daily telephone calls and visits that I appreciate so much.  I could not mention everyone in this short article. Faye Atkins is one. Diane Evans and Betty Byford are always doing things to make my days brighter. I call Diane and Betty "the Neal girls".
Their mother was a dear friend going back many years.  We were neighbors on the Game Ridge Road when our children were small, although I knew Jean Jones Neal when we both were young girls.
In the last year, Werdna Moss has become a faithful friend and a special person in my life.  One of the things that makes Werdna close to me is because of the respect and honor that I felt for her parents, especially for Mr. Alton Tramel who was one of my favorite school teachers.
Werdna is a fine Christian lady who truly lets her light shine for the Lord.
When I’m talking to her on the telephone, I feel like I’m talking to a preacher. In fact, Werdna considers her life a ministry, as she cares for people and encourages them.
She calls me regularly no matter where she is. In recent months she has traveled to Arizona and California to be with her family. Still, she takes the time to call and check on me.
I have believed for many years that the most important thing in life is a relationship.  First of course is a person's relationship with the Lord; then with family and friends.
In my mind there is nothing more important.
