While my son Ralph was visiting me this week getting my groceries, medicines and running errands, he stopped by to see Pete Love, one of his cousins.
Ralph said they had a good time talking about the family connection.  Pete’s great-granddaddy and Ralph’s was Jasper Vaughn, who lived in the Young Bend or Four Seasons area.  Jasper was daddy to Erbie Vaughn, who was Pete’s granddaddy.  And Erbie was a brother to Floyd Vaughn, Ralph’s granddaddy.
Ralph also enjoyed telling Josh Love about their family connection since Ralph has done quite a bit of research on the family history.
The first Vaughn family to settle in this area was James and Sophorah who came here before 1820 from South Carolina by covered wagon.  They made their home in what is now the Pate’s Ford area, and later they moved to the Young Bend. They attended and were members of the Old Bildad Baptist Church.
Their son, Benjamin, was the daddy of Jasper, had a twin brother, Thomas.  Another brother was Perry or Pat as he was sometimes called.
Ralph always said that Ollie Womack was one of his favorite cousins.  Once he saw her sister Macon Judkins and called her "favorite cousin".  She quickly corrected him and said that she knew Ollie was his favorite.
