Twisted Oar at Hurricane Marina is a newly opened restaurant at Center Hill Lake, offering both walk-up and boat-up access.

It operates seven days a week and aims to provide year-round service—a rarity for the area. The restaurant’s other location is on Lake Lanier in Georgia.

The menu caters to a variety of tastes, featuring seafood, build-your-own burgers, and popular items like shrimp crab dip and blackened fish tacos, which can also be ordered with chicken or steak. All sandwiches can also be served as wraps.

Daily specials include all-you-can-eat Taco Tuesday with $5 margaritas, crab legs on Thursday, and slow-roasted prime rib with a loaded baked potato on Friday. Thursday and Friday specials are available only after 5 p.m.

Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. The restaurant also has a full-service bar, including the popular Bushwackers—frozen chocolate and coffee creamy drinks from the former restaurant.

Regional manager Ryan Jones said the main restaurant is undergoing extensive interior renovations to create a large, open restaurant and bar with garage-door walls that open to a 140-seat covered patio. Eleven big-screen TVs and a surround sound system will enhance the interior.

Jones stated that the renovation, which began with just 10 weeks’ notice, is expected to be completed by the end of July 2025. He also mentioned that future activities may include a cornhole tournament and special events for both the college and NFL football seasons.

The view offers a breathtaking open vista of beautiful Center Hill Lake and the surrounding mountains. Several boat slips are available for boaters to tie up and enjoy a sit-down meal at the restaurant or to take out and enjoy on their boats. For those needing assistance from the parking lot, golf cart pickup is available by calling the restaurant or Hurricane Marina’s Ship Store.
