Trick or Treat is just about upon us. Have you gotten your candy shopping done? I haven’t bought the first bag yet. After all these years, I’ve learned quite a bit of the candy will never be handed out at Halloween to the little kiddies as you know cannot resist to get into those treats. I figure I possibly could garner 3 to 4 pounds of extra weight if he candy bought is bought too early. I try also not to buy as much candy as I used to. If I run out I’ll give a piece of fruit or some change to make me feel better and possibly the kids, too. Over the years candy at our house that was left over provided quite a stash for me and some weight gain according to my bathroom scale. This is sort of like being on a diet for me. If I’m not seeing the candy, I’m not going to devour it.

More rain in the forecast for us this weekend one to four inches possible. Lot of rain that I guess might end our drought. Sure will be good sleeping weather, too.

Two young men were killed in a car accident on Tuesday, October 22 in Cannon County. John Holland and Johnny Kennedy of Auburntown lost their lives. Please keep their families in prayer at this sad time.  I believe John was 19 and Johnny was 21. They had their whole lives to live before them and then this terrible tragedy happened and they were gone. I hope they had accepted Jesus Christ. While we are in this sinful world even though we are Christians, bad things can happen to us. If a tragedy like this happens to us, we know as Christians that we will be in the presence of Jesus in heaven. Hopefully, the good thing possibly that could come out of this awful accident would be for young people especially to turn their lives and their future over to the precious nail-scarred hands and feet of Jesus Christ the One who died for all of us because He loved us.
