Prospects for some amazing and brilliant colored leaves on the trees on that mountain behind our house are looking somewhat better now. Probably next week they’ll start to make a showing. I’m hoping since we got over two inches of rain yesterday it should help the situation. Take the time if you have to, to enjoy nature that erupts at this time of the year. Fall is a magnificent time of the year.

A friend of mine brought me the plaque to hang on my wall. I simply love it and wanted to share what it says with you:

Secret of Life – Take time to think. It is the source of power.

Take time to play. It is the secret of perpetual youth.

Take time to be friendly. It is the road to happiness.

Take time to work. It is the price of success.

Take time to pray. It is the greatest power on Earth.

Take time to love and be loved. It is the way of God.

Never thought I would quit watching football but after all these players, coaches and owners not standing when our national anthem is being played that is exactly what I have done. So unpatriotic to our veterans and the men and women in uniform that are dying each day to preserve America’s freedom for those people to bring such disgrace to our nation. If you’ve got some political agenda to convey, this is the wrong place to show it. You are not an American when you disrespect America in this manner. This is an erosion of this great nation and what it stands for. Anyone that burns Old Glory or will not stand for the national anthem should be shown the door out of this country. They then would know pretty quickly just how good they had it made here in the good old U.S.A.
