Fill your heart with truth

Don’t you just love the beautiful weather we are having with the temperatures being in the sixties? This is more like it, and like me everyone else is loving it, too. This time last year on March 11 it was 79 degrees.

I know this, as I had written it down on the calendar. That day I did some push mowing at the back of our house and washed my monster truck. Nine days later on March 20, the first day of spring, I mowed both yards. Hoping the days now will be on an upward swing, with a lot more warmer temperatures like we had last year around this time. Can’t wait to get out on our patio.

At Walmart Friday I ran into some people I knew. Mike "Moose" Nokes, Julie Fitts, and Joe Dorris Curtis were doing some shopping, too. We enjoyed the conversations and catching up on some news.

Read with interest an article the other day about how to guard your heart. So much pressure on our young boys and girls to dress a certain way these days. Fill your heart with truth and cling to that truth when the world is defined by one thing and one thing only, a God who loves you and who created you wonderfully! You are a beautiful creation of God, so you should act and dress like it. The world doesn’t impress me. Being modest in the way you dress at all times shows that you are not one to be insecure in life. Never, but never, apologize for your Christian beliefs and values. Stand on them, as you are with the winner Jesus Christ, not the loser in this world.

Please keep these people in prayer: Norris and Bobbye Harrison, Edna Hooper, Trena Curtis, Kathy Martin, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, Jeff Brown, and Denise Stanton.

"But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness." (1 Timothy 6: 6-11)
