Hi, and hope everyone is doing well this Tuesday morning, June 16. The mountain is calm and peaceable as usual, promising us another beautiful day to be grateful for that which God has given us.
Surprise birthday party for Macon Wade at the Short Mountain Church of God on June 13. She has turned 80 years old. Quite a large amount of people attended this special event, and the fellowship hall was filled to capacity. So much food to devour as everyone had a splendid time. Wishing a happy birthday to Macon for the wonderful person you are.
Japanese beetles have finally arrived here, and I could simply do without them, as they are eating on cannas, rose bushes, crape myrtles, and even hydrangeas. Got out the Sevin Dust to hopefully take care of them and get them gone from here.
We have some people to keep in prayer: Kathy Martin, Denise Stanton, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, (Carlon fell last Saturday and cut his head). He is doing somewhat better, Edith Miller, Edna Hooper, and Norris and Bobbye Harrison.
Do uplift in prayer the family of Trena Curtis. She passed away on June 11 at her home. Quite a beautiful Christian lady for all of us that knew Trena. She was only 52 years of age, and had a long battle with cancer she had been diagnosed having.
Never know just how in an instant our lives can be turned upside down, so live your life for Jesus, as He is the only one that can take care of your hurts, disappointments, and tragedies that come your way.
