We’ve got rain and cooler weather on the mountain which to me makes it look so dismal outside. We have the remnants of hurricane Irma to thank for this. Hopefully by Thursday afternoon the sun will come back out and the temperatures for the weekend will rebound into the mid-eighties for highs instead of the sixties that we have been having this week. I guess a lot of people including me will get back to mowing their lawns with the weather improving. The months of August and September have been on the wet side which is unusual for them. Maybe October will be drier I hope. Got to thinking with the weather being pretty cool fixing up a pot of chili would be so satisfying with crackers of pimento cheese sandwiches on the side. Makes you hungry just thinking about it doesn’t it? Me too.
There are some people who are in need of prayer: Dennis Stanton, Houston and Martha Parker, Bill Nokes, Carlon and Mai Nell Melton, the family of Ron Pedigo, the family of Doris Beshearse and the people of Texas and Florida with all that flooding and loss of life and possessions.
Have you started decorating your house and lawn with the fall decorations to make them look super good? Mums, especially yellow ones, sure do make quite a statement I like them the best. Got my decorations out and they do look fantastic. May do a little more to them before I’m completely through. Fun to decorate isn’t it? I’m sure you have some great ideas so get creative and fix up your place the way you like and don’t forget the pumpkins.
Chris Moore’s sermon on Sunday “Undefeated”. We will never be defeated if we have accepted Jesus in our life. All things are possible with Him as your Lord and personal Saviour. A truer friend you’ll never find than Jesus. Hope you make it to church this Sunday.
