Jonell Bratcher, 71, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. I feel fortunate to have known Jonell as she was a warm and very caring person. She will be missed by many. She was a sister to Peggy (Donnie) Scott of Warren County. Please be uplifting Jonell’s family in prayer at this sad time.
Pastor Chris Moore’s sermon on Sunday was “Fan or Follower.” It got me to thinking just how many of us are truly followers of Jesus Christ. Sure, we can speak highly of Him but getting down to the brass tacks of serving Jesus is another matter. All of us have been given talents to use for His glory, if we truly want to make a commitment to Jesus. When we accepted Him as our Lord and Personal Savior everything about us changed for the better. There’s not enough we can do in return to thank Him for saving our soul.
Serving Him in whatever capacity we can everyday will make a difference for those souls that will be added to His kingdom in heaven. We can do so much for Jesus by witnessing to others of His greatness. Sitting back and doing nothing as Christians just isn’t acceptable when you think about so many people who will not make it to heaven if they don’t know about Him. Our purpose should be clear, that Jesus is number one in our life so we shouldn’t get lax when His coming back could be any second.
Please keep in prayers Joe Young, John Carpenter, Charlie Mai Daniel, Sandy Johnson, Edna Hooper, Bernie Braswell, and Faye Hale.
