I hope everyone enjoyed Labor Day. I saw a video online of Center Hill Lake and it was packed full. They posted the video to show the waves and all the boats around them. I know a lot of families had cook outs and went to parks. I stayed at home and enjoyed just being home.
I think it is time to buy some mums and pansies to set on my deck where I can enjoy them. Nothing like a splash of color. Let’s not forget about the beautiful pumpkins in all the different colors and size.
Along with fall comes allergy season. Fall seems to bother me more than spring. I hope to get over this soon. With the rains coming in it will help the ragweed to die down.
Another event coming up is the Global Repentance and Prayer which will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 on the East side of the DeKalb Courthouse lawn at 10 a.m. In case of rain this will be held at the Community Complex Auditorium. Several pastors will be there: Bobby Lee Hale, New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Graden Kirksey, Refuge, Dwayne Cornelius, New Life United Pentecostal, Nathan Thomason, Outreach Baptist Church, and Chad Ramsey, Smithville First Baptist. Everyone come out and prayer for our community, schools, teachers, our children and our world.
The DeKalb County Fair will be held on October 31, 2020. This will be a one day event filled with barn yard games for the kids, corn hole tournament, pet show, exhibits in the women’s building and of course pageants. You can pick up a pageant form here at the Smithville Review. I will have more details later on as the date draws nearer.
May God bless you all!
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
