Our lives are but a vapor

We walk out the door everyday taking it for granted we’ll be back at home later on after work, shopping, or running errands that we’ve just got to get done, but have you made preparations? By that question I’m asking have you accepted Jesus Christ, the son of God, as your personal Savior. We can be at the top and well off financially and okay, because we made plans and think we’re fine and everything is pretty well in our world with just a few problems that so many of us have and then a tragedy hits and brings us back down to ground level as the reality of what has happened sink in. I felt this when the breaking news of Kobe Bryant, a legend in the world of basketball having played for the Los Angeles Lakers, his daughter, and seven other people died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, January 26, 2020. He was 41 years of age and his daughter only 13 years old. After the shock, what settled in on my mind was had any or all of them made preparations in the case their lives were ended? None of them on that fatal day knew it would be their last day here. I can only hope they were living for Jesus. Do you see how everything can seem so rosy and in the blink of an eye it can be over for us here? Are they all now in presence of Jesus for eternity or were their souls lost? I do not know that answer for only God knows. Remember the riches in heaven outweigh anything here on earth and that Jesus is just waiting to accept you into heaven and into His presence to give you everything you could ever desire. So make preparations to be in God’s divine plan for your salvation in accepting Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten son, by asking Jesus for forgiveness of your sins. It is only through Jesus, God’s son that we can get to heaven. Don’t think you can put off until the future to make these decisions of accepting Jesus as your Savior. That helicopter crash should prove to us don’t take your living here for granted without Jesus in your life. Jesus loves us all and doesn’t want any of us to perish. We have the freedom of choice to make Jesus our Savior and live with Him for eternity. How grand it will be to finally be in His presence someday. Ensure your future by asking Jesus to come into your heart today to give you peace, joy, and hope. That will be the most important preparations you and I can make if something should happen to us. Our lives are but a vapor. We can be here one second and gone the next.

Please keep praying for the following people: Dr. J.C Wall, he is slowing improving, Tim Howes, he is doing a whole lot better, Jeanette Smithson, she has returned home after rehab at NHC, Helen Nixon, she’s about the same but trusting in the Lord to give her strength to not tire out so easily, Charlie Mai Daniel, still not feeling well enough to attend church on Sunday, Ethelene Pedigo, had a fall recently and is recovering at home, and Loyce Holcomb, still doing better at this writing.

Also please keep praying for the families of Faye Nokes, and John Henry Thweatt. God knows how to uplift and comfort us in our time of loss.
