Roane State Community College student Morgan Page of Smithville was nominated for the college’s Outstanding Freshman Award.Students are nominated by faculty and staff for the award, and a committee makes the final selection. The nominee must be a full-time freshman with a 3.5 GPA or higher, and there is an emphasis on school and community activities.Roane State is a two-year college providing transfer curricula, career-preparation programs and continuing education. Founded in 1971, the college has campuses in Crossville, Harriman, Huntsville, Jamestown, Knoxville, LaFollette, Lenoir City, Oak Ridge and Wartburg.
