I heard on the news the price of coffee will be going up. I guess we knew this would eventually happen with the price of just about everything else costing us more as stores are raising prices. There are so many people that are on fixed incomes and are having a hard time making ends meet. "Pinching pennies" is not just a phrase anymore. It's an everyday occurrence.
We're doing pretty good now with the several inches of rain we have received here lately. No drought situation for sure going on for us. Later on, though that will most likely change with summer on the horizon and rainfall, as usual, becomes scarce.
Listening to those lively gospel songs of old this morning while fixing breakfast. You know it's those spirit-filled songs that we have grown up with that makes you want to praise and worship our Lord for saving our soul. Only gospel music can stir a person into accepting Jesus Christ.
We have some people that are in need of prayer: Dusty Johnson, Mary Melton, Diane Evans, Rose Watts, Edna Hubler, Joe Gunter, Jeff Brown, Walter and Faye Ferrell, Donald Ferrell, and Paul Young (the son of the late W.J. Young and Peggy Young). Peggy resides in Manchester, New Hampshire. Also remember the people of Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of our country, and the families of Michael Prater and Rondall "Wormy" Parker in the loss of their dear loved ones.
Have you ever watched "Duck Dynasty?" I have found the show to be quite amusing the few times I have watched it. I hated to hear of the passing of Phil Robertson, age 79, the patriarch of the family, on Sunday, May 25th. He had Alzheimer's disease.
The production of new pennies will be suspended before long. It was something I didn't want to hear, but I do understand the premise for it. Many times, I have picked up a penny and if it was heads, good luck would be coming my way or that was what I was told. A "penny for your thoughts" comes to mind on this I would imagine.
Stopping by this week were Connie Cantrell, Rick Hubler, Kristie Johnson, Russell Taylor and Rex Pedigo.
Spotted a young coyote in our back yard early Tuesday morning. People are seeing more coyotes here on the mountain now. I hear them pretty often myself on the mountain behind our house when I'm out on the patio.
Some people and a lot of college students are still protesting against Israel in some places in this country. Hamas is to blame for all of this chaos that is going on for their cowardly attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. The brutality on the Jewish people was not human as far as I am concerned. Only cowards act this way. Hamas started this and I pray that Israel finishes them off once and for all. God will not let His people (the people of Israel) be wiped off the face of the earth as some of the Middle east would hope would happen. If the evil that Hamas represents is not destroyed, we could find them someday on our doorstep. Never take the freedom we enjoy in America for granted. There are enemies that want to take away our freedom so we must do what is necessary to protect our country. Just like our homes need to be protected by whatever means we think are necessary, we must do the same for our country.
Have a great day!
Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Matthew 28:20
