Remember Mother's Day

New Home News with Barbara Ann Ervin

Since the parks have opened up people are camping and fishing. I know a lot of people that love to go camping just to get away from home and see a different scenery. As I looked out my kitchen window this morning I am able to see a green pasture with cattle, all the dogwoods that have bloomed and my neighbor across the highway. It is a beautiful sight to me I get the morning sunrise and the evening sunset in the back of my yard.

There has been so many cancellations of upcoming events already. One the Smithville Jamboree is not going to be around the square in downtown Smithville, the board of directors are looking into other alternatives. I am not sure about the DeKalb County Fair yet. My church was having Preaching in the Park for the second time this year and that has cancelled. It is hard to make plans for anything with this virus around none knows when it will go away so plans cannot be made. The safety of the people is first.

I do hope the DCHS Seniors will get to have so sort of graduation and prom. But again safety must come first. If it is possible at all it will be done. Everyone is concerned for this senior class.

Prayers for the sick and the ones who have lost loved ones.
