I enjoyed a nice card this week, wishing me good health from a dear lady in Smithville, Frankie, and her husband, Jack Watkins. Thanks goes to the Watkins for remembering that I was not able to attend Homecoming at Dry Creek Baptist Church. This was the first time that I missed Homecoming in over 70 years.

God in his mercy and love has claimed one of his own who had many illnesses in this life, but had lost loved ones that she wanted to be reunited with in her heavenly home eternal. Ruby Frazier Smithson was that lady who wanted to see her son, who was taken away to Heaven, Doris Smithson, at the age of five years; her husband, Bruce Smithson; her parents, Bob and Hassie Hubbard Frazier, her mother’s sisters, Myrtle Hubbard Davis, Lona Hubbard Graham, Lela Hubbard Herndon, Ona Hubbard Fuson, and Maggie Hubbard; her mother’s brothers, Leferd and Horace Hubbard; her brother, James Frazier; and all other relatives and friends.
Throughout her life, she wondered why her only child was taken at such a young age, but her Christian faith never left her. She was, despite her grief, a dedicated Christian, faithful to her church and service of her Lord Jesus Christ.
Our community sends its sincere sympathy to her brothers, Edward and Frances Frazier; Edsel and Louise Frazier; her niece, Susan Frazier Hinton and Jerry Hinton; and other relatives. May God bless and comfort this family.
If God awards “Stars in Crowns,” for the help given Ruby, during all her illness, Edward and Frances Frazier, will surely have an abundance of stars, when they recieve their “Heavenly Crowns.” We thank them for showing their love and concern for his sister.
Mr. W.L. Baker, over 100 years old, of Lebanon, brought an inspiring message, Sunday evening at Dry Creek Baptist Church.

The senior adults of Dry Creek Baptist enjoyed an overnight trip to Pigeon Forge, July 8 and 9. Due to many seniors being ill only six made the trip. They enjoyed a show, good food, and Christian fellowship with Pastor, Bro. Donald Owens.
On Aug. 7-10 Dry Creek will host their revival. Alton Scruggs will be the visiting minister; Kenny Bamett, pianist; song leader and special singers from Cumberland Baptist Church, Beersheba Springs. Bro. Donald Owens, pastor.
See you in church. Everyone is welcome.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father. (James 1:17).
