Reservations are now open for one of the oldest and most popular annual events offered by the Friends of Edgar Evins State Park.

Ride a school bus to visit Burgess Falls, Cummins Falls and Fall Creek Falls, eat lunch at Golden Corral in Cookeville. Meet at the covered shelters by 8 A.M. to check-in and board the bus. The total distance traveled will be about 200 miles with an expected return to Edgar Evins State Park around 4:00 p.m. The tour cost is $15 per person plus approximately $10-$15 for your lunch. To reserve your seat go to the park's website at https://reserve.tnstateparks.com/register/annual-waterfall-tour-fundraiser-2020

Some stops may require a short walk on uneven or rocky ground to the falls, and the ranger will lead a short hike at Burgess Falls State Natural Area. Wear sensible shoes and bring a walking stick or cane if you need added stability. Dress in layers to accommodate unexpected changes in weather.

For information regarding reservations or the tour contact Ranger Lee Chadwell through the park office phone at (931) 646-3080 or toll free at 1-800-250-8619. Cancellations may be made before March 10th by calling the park office. This is a fund raiser for the Friends of Edgar Evins State Park, an all-volunteer group to support the park. The website is www.foeesp.com and find us on Facebook.

This year will be the first time to meet at the covered shelters off the Marina Parking Lot instead of the office. Just follow signs toward the Marina and the shelters will be on your right. Parking will be easier and there still will be restroom facilities. It will also be the first time reservations will be made through the park’s page instead of through a commercial service.

For those who wish to make this an overnight or weekend outing reserve camping sites or cabins through the park’s website or call the park office.
