Second hay-cutting for farmers

In the Dry Creek valley, farmers are preparing for their second hay cutting of the year.
Most of our farmers have other jobs like tool and dye, school teachers, pharmacist, baby sitters, etc.
All jobs are important. Monday was our day with the dentist, Mitchell Tatum, in Smithville. He is a nice friendly, good dentist who can take care of all your dental problems.
He also has a nice group of ladies who assist him. He has been praticing for 20 years. We can recommend Dr. Tatum for many more years of service. DeKalb County is fortunate to have him, and we say “thank you Dr. Tatum for your service.”
All former members, Jerry and Brenda Parker, and friends please mark your calender for June 29, Homecoming at Dry Creek Baptist Church celebrating 125 years. We hope to see you there. You will be blessed.
A delicious dinner at noon. We invite tommy and Audrey Webb. Mrs. Charlie Haas and her daughter of Texas were visiting this area and talking to people who were related to the Haas family.
They visited Louise Frazier daughter-in-law of the late Lonnie Haas Frazier, and she related about the Haas’s visit to Tennessee and to the Dry Creek valley. Some visits were for a couple of days and some were for a couple of weeks. It was a nice visit.
The Frazier-Hendrix families honored Jennifer Hendrix with a family baby shower, Sunday afternoon at the Dry Creek Baptist Church fellowship hall. jarred and Jennifer are expecting a baby girl, Maggie Ann, in July.
