It’s always good to let others know about things that might hurt them. Just got through reading an article about the risks that are involved with the consumption of sodas in our lives. I think a lot could probably do us harm somewhere down the road. I’ll just list a few important facts we should know about the sodas we consume: 1. Concerns about those sodas include its association with obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease. 2. Now soda consumption has been linked to an increased risk of stroke. Consuming just one can of soda per day, either sugar sweetened or diet increases a person’s risk of stroke over time by 16 percent. Stroke risk increased with each additional can of soda per day that a person drank. It’s believed that the sugar in the soda increases blood glucose and insulin, which over time, may lead to glucose intolerance, insulin resistance, and inflammation. Those changes influence plague buildup in arteries, plague stability and clot formation, all risk factors for strokes.
The article went on to say taper off soda as best you can. Try drinking water, coffee, teas, seltzers, or flavored waters that could satisfy you. I took this article very seriously as we all want to stay as healthy as we can for as long as possible. I stopped drinking the sodas after I read this article. This has been about three weeks ago. I feel better and haven’t craved the sodas since knowing what could be the consequences for me in the long run. My complexion is clearer now but I still have the wrinkles but hey, I can live with the wrinkles just not my face.
