Reverend John and Kathy Carpenter, Wesley and Collin have returned from a much deserved vacation at Gulf Shores, AL. Becky Roberts accompanied them.

Rose and Paul Dillon visited her former Nashville roommate Elna Richardson in New Hampshire and then attended a First Methodist service in Gainesboro on Sunday.

Sherry Bush attended the baptism of her granddaughters Haley and Aby at Calvary Baptist Church in Red Boiling Springs recently. Their father is Tom Bush.

Get well wishes to: Laird Barnard, Bertha McBride, Doyle Smith, Betty Spiva and Larry Tatum.

I visited Bertha McBride at the Webb House last week. She looks good and healthy and was so happy in her new home. I also saw a lot of other Smithvillians as residents out there.

Don’t forget the bake, yard and crafts sale at First Methodist Church on Nov. 3, 11-1:30 p.m. Lunch will also be served.

Tom Hill, a teacher, is offering a Bible study for children at First Methodist 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday evenings. It begins with a snack supper and a Bible story on flannel board by a storyteller. Any elementary child is invited.

Amen.
