Would you believe that I ate three Thanksgiving dinners in three successive days? Where's that diet now?  I was honored to be a guest at the First Methodist dinner on Tuesday where Emily Bass and her staff are doing a terrific job with their 50 children and parents. Then on Wednesday, I feasted at the Headstart dinner where my great-great niece, Kiana Driver, is a happy student. Then the usual Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's on Thursday. Burp! More family dinner reports later.
Jim Judkins, local attorney, did a marvelous job of explaining the facts and problems with family wills at the Senior0 Angels meeting on Monday, Nov. 21. Ruth Dobbs and Becky Davis were hostesses.
There is still room for the Christmas Trip to Beersheba Springs on Dec. 8. If interested, call Becky at the church office, 597-4961.
Some gals celebrated the weekend by attending "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville last Friday evening.  Enjoying the play were Annette Greek, Lillie Vaughn and Gianna Owens.
Get-well wishes to Walter Burton and Gladys Knowles, who is in Cookeville Hospital and many others on the sick list.  Belated happy birthday to the Womack twins, Loyce Holcomb and Royce Odom. Went to high  school with those gals.
Thanksgiving dinners were celebrated by many but here are some of them. My high school friend, Fay Christian Nixon, hosted her dinner at her home in Alexandria for her family. This included Greta and Martin Massey, Nate and a Chinese student, from Roswell, Ga., Steve and Sandi Nixon and three children and her 92-year-old mother, Mrs. Bea, all from Lebanon; Fred and Nicky, Daniel and Joseph (twins) from Sandy Springs, Ga..
Another family had so many that they had their Thanksgiving dinner at the Methodist CFC Bldg. Aileen Clark, the matriach of the family, reported that 16 were present at the catered dinner (now that's smart).
This included Rev. Dennis and Cathy Clark from Guthrie, Oklahoma; Carmen and Donnie Bond, Ellie and Hattie from Edmund, Okla.; Darin and Holly Clark and Harper from North Carolina; Linda and Ronnie Hawkins, Chris and Breanna and Clay and Charma Hawkins.
Betty Turner and new husband, Jack Loeb, had all their families together at his lake home near Guntersville for the weekend. There were 14 present with Grandpa Loeb at 93 being the oldest and little Payne Bryant, 10 months, being the youngest. They spent their leisure time, canoeing, fishing and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Bro. John and Kathy Carpenter, Wesley and Collin, spent their Thanksgiving Day at his family farm near Joelton. There were around 20 of them and some hiked around the farm. Anne Meece, a ministerial student from Asbury College in Willmore, Ky., who was visiting the Carpenters, also joined the family occasion.
If you would like to share your Christmas tradition, e-mail me at salingram@dtccom.net during the coming month.
Seize the day and enjoy every minute of it.  Amen.
