Well, another Jamboree has come and gone. Our small town’s populations increased into the thousands last weekend. Out town became alive with music, people from everywhere and craft and food booths. Jack Barton and his staff did a fantastic job.
Enjoying the Jamboree and visiting family and friends in their ol’ hometown were Delma and Jewel Murphy, Lounette Braswell Nicol and her sister, Vanissa, and family, Anne Foutch Gilpin, Mickey and Debbie Driver and grandchildren Brandon and Logan from Texas, Sonata and Randy Rayburn, and Adam and Melanie Driver of Chattanooga.
This was also the weekend that our high school sisters’ßß group met at a lake house. There were nine present out of 13 who went through elementary and highschool together. Story and picture will be in next week’s paper.
Get-well wishes to Tommy Reynolds in Chattanooga, Juanita Casey, Eddie Sutton, and Laird Barnard.
Sunday, Charmaine Mitchell accompanied me to Pomona UMC in Crossville. This was the church’s day to recognize the recipients of the Ingram Scholarship. I had the pleasure of awarding these scholarships to the fine recipients. A beautiful dinner was enjoyed after the service.
Some may remember the negative comments made about my kitty cat waking me up early in the morning. Well, in my moving the cat wanted to stay outside rather than staying in a cool house, thus, she died of a heat stroke. I do miss her.
Early voting has begun. Do your patriotic duty and vote.
Stay cool.
Amen.

Busy Jamboree weekend for all
