Yours truly is still in the process of moving. Whether it's 100 miles from house to house or across the field, moving is still a major event. But I've come full circle from when I lived with my parents while teaching first grade here. I'm back in the same house but with different furniture and a different bedroom. Moving is still hectic!
I had a busy day last Saturday. The Democratic party hosted a brunch at the Senior Citizen Center in the new county complex. The state representative candidates, Sarah Marie Smith and Wesley Hodges spoke along with the local candidates. Food was great as well as the music. Six young people received scholarships.
Then I did something that afternoon I've never done before. I attended a wedding at NHC Healthcare. No, it was not any of the patients. It was a good teacher friend of mine. Kim Brown and Jim Martin were married in a lovely, elegant ceremony. The place was chosen so Jim's mother, who is at at NHC, could attend. Kim and Jim were appreciative of the NHC's hospitality there.
Carolyn and Jerry Williams attended the International Folk Festival in the Manchester Comunity Theater last week. Emily Williams, their daughter, sang in the Acapella Choir opening with the National Anthem. The Rigney family played for the cloggers from Manchester.
Get-well wishes to Ruth Hill Gothard, Nell Driver, Eddie Sutton, Ruth Dobbs at St. Thomas Hospital and Ruth Redmon. Also sympathy again to the family of Phyllis Redmon Bennett.
"I don't feel old. I don't feel anything until noon. Then it's time for my nap." Bob Hope
I agree with Bob on the naps. It's a good habit after lunch and I enjoy it, too.
