Vacations are still being enjoyed by some families before school begins.
J.J. and Jim Poss, Lane and Tanner enjoyed a few days in Gatlinburg recently. Besides swimming, the boys took time for The Comedy Barn and Splash Country.

Teacher training day is July 30, from noon-3 p.m. This indicates that school registration is Aug. 2. Therefore, the school celebration is Aug. 3 on the courthouse lawn.

We’re going to miss the closing of Neo’s, especially on Sundays. I most enjoyed the good, Southern cooking.
Don’t forget the grand ole’ DeKalb County Fair is this week. This used to be the highlighted activity of the year for everyone.
