These last couple of days makes us aware that these fall or winter days are here! Brrr!  Since moving I couldn't find my winter sweaters and tops until Saturday.
The county school children will begin their fall break this Friday, Oct. 12.  Teachers will report in that day.  However, remember head start will not observe this fall break and have their school as usual.
Would you believe that I have already bought two Christmas presents? I'm so proud of myself.  Now if I can remember where I put them by the time December arrives.
Belated happy birthday to Linda Rogers (Tom).
Get-well wishes to Brenda Tramel after suffering some injuries in a recent automobile accident. We miss her smiling face at the Medical Clinic up there on the hill. Send her a card.
Congratulations to Ashley and Nick Guess who are the proud parents of Chloe Alexandria born Sept. 29 in McMinnville. Welcoming her home was big brother, Payton. Grandparents are Esther and Louis Conklin.
Four ladies enjoyed the Fall Festival at Granville last Saturday. Mary Colwell was the chauffeur with Rose Dillen, Gail Bishop and her daughter Debbie. They enjoyed strolling around the streets of this quaint little town in Jackson County along side the river,  music, vendors and food booths along with the quilt show at the Methodist Church where Rev. Terry Little served his first appointment and  last appointment.
My nephew, Robin Driver, chauffeured me to the chapel dedication at Beersheba Springs last Sunday afternoon. New stained glass memorial windows were installed.  One window (the peace dove) was in memory of my late husband, Rev. Cliff Ingram.  The new Bishop Bill McAlilly was the main speaker and Holy Communion was served to the overflowing congregation. A sumptious reception was later held in the old historic hotel.  I appreciate Betty Jo and Holly Forkner, Jim Driver, my good travelling friend, Elaine Craighead from Gainesboro, Rev. Brent Davis of Lawrenceburg (our former D.S. Jim Davis' son) and of course, Robin, attending in my behalf. (Pics next week).
Bill Lassiter, a DCHS graduate and classmate, will be autographing his recently published book, “The Lonesome Goose and Other Stories,”  at Webb's Drug Store this Friday, Oct. 12.  Come by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and greet him.  His wife, Sally, will be with him.
I'm still looking for crafters to set up their tables at the Methodist Fellowship building on Nov. 2  at  the Heartfelt and Homemade Bazaar to be held that day.  Just give Becky at First Methodist or me a call  (597-4000.)  Further information will be given.
While subbing at Smithville Elementary last week, Charlie Parker and his crew came out to talk about fires and to show off their new engine.  They told the children about their Halloween Open House on that evening  for the children.
Inspirational thought for the week:  "The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook."  William James     Amen to this.
