This week has been an introduction to fall with all the rains!
So, it's 'Goodbye Summer-Hello Fall.” Spring and summer are my favorite seasons. These seasons are so casual, so free spirited in activity and attire! But, as someone said about our seasons:"if you don't like the weather today, just hang around and it will change!" How true!
Laundered all my summer whites this week and stored them away until next year. Now it's time to get out a light sweater for cool nights.
Some announcer reported that August was the hottest month in 10 years. Amen to that! My lawn was brown and crunchy!

This coming Sunday, Sept. 11, marks the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack of the World Trade Center in New York City.
Do you remember where you were on that day? My husband and I were getting ready to go to our Tai Chi class in Crossville. While I was getting dressed, I flipped on the TV when the news broke. Naturally, I called my husband to watch this breaking news. We went on to our exercise class where everyone was watching the TV at the Sr. Citizens Center there. By this time, the second attack had occurred. There was little conversation that day there. People were in shock! We were very passive , stunned and numb.
This Sunday afternoon there will be a commemoration service on the square at 2:00 p.m. The local pastors will be conducting the service.
So, after church, eat your lunch, take a quick nap and come on down.
New York City will also have a service with 2000 cameras positioned at the site and on high alert.
Celebrating birthdays this week are: Stuart Brown, Elene Hayes (a former teacher of mine), W.J. Poss, Wendy Humphrey (my niece), Derrick Colwell, Paul Parsley, Nate Sherwood, Gladys Knowles and Bill Little. Celebrating anniversaries are: Steve and Martha Cooper, Richard and Patsy Judkins and Hoyte and Joann Odom. If you know someone with a birthday or anniversary this month, give me a call.
Someone dropped me off a gift this week which I don't want.
It is a cute little gray cat. So if anyone would like to have her and her bed, give me a call and you can have my gift, free.
Life is a coin; you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once. Think about that and make every day count.
Amen!
