Spring begins today, March 20. Hope it comes in like a lamb.
Happy Birthday to Roger Sharp (the computer wizard) and Robin Driver on St. Patrick Day.  Hope everyone wore green last Sunday.
Did you know that we have a second Dollar General Store in town now, on the Nashville Highway?  We lived in Scottsville, Ky. back in the 50s when the first Dollar General Store was opened.  My sister Charlotte went to school with Cal Turner, the owner, of all the stores.
I have a friend, Elaine Craighead, from Gainesboro/Cookeville, who left this week on a mission trip to Africa.  Their tour guide is Rev. Randall Ganues and Brenda, pastor at First Methodist here from 1977-81.  Others will join them in Washington,D.C. as they depart for the long trip.
Get-well wishes to Jean Meyers and Heather Theriaque.
Sympathy to Richard Judkins and family in the death of his sister, Dimple Hale in Watertown, and to the family of Nina Rhody, who was a classmate of mine.
Now for a little humor. I was at the local post office the other day and was buying some forever stamps from Billy Phillips there. I asked him if he thought they would be good in Heaven.  Said he wasn't sure but the next time I was in there, he replied, “I checked with somebody and he said they would be good there.” So there you go!
Ethan Absher who attends school in Nashville is visiting his grandparents, Charlotte and Laird Barnard, this week. The Metro schools are on spring break.
Some people are kind, polite and sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pew. We attended a church one day when this happened to us. The couple just stood by where we were sitting and said, “You are sitting in our pew.” So naturally we got up and moved.
