This past weekend was a beautiful weekend. Some yard sales were held. Lawnmowers were heard. People were outside everywhere.
I took advantage of the New Life Pentecostal's Open House at their renovated fellowship building (old Rose's building) on McMinnville Highway. I had a personal tour by some gentleman. It is amazing to see what this building has to offer: four daycare rooms, a gym, men and women’s exercise rooms, classrooms, a nursery, coffee shop, a library and a first-class kitchen. I joined Henrietta Hale and Jeanette Young in the coffee shop for tasty refreshments. This is a real asset for our city and county. Dewayne Cornerllius is the pastor.
Sympathy to the family of Wayne Blair, a former game warden.

Head Start graduation is April 26 at their center. There will be a morning ballgame, family picnic and then the graduation ceremonies. I'm sure the parents, grandparents and other relatives will be there to congratulation these pre-schoolers.
The Bright Hill Methodist Church members are sponsoring a drive to assist our veterans at the VA Center in Murfreesboro. They need new underwear and socks (men and women). Boxes are in the foyer at First Methodist to assist our countrymen and women.
The UMW will be having a yard sale also on April 26, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be bargains galore. Call the church for more information.
The Southern Women's show in Nashville will be April 18-21. I've been several times. It's a good day outing.
I have also received several comments about the recent photo of that sporty girls’ basketball team with Coach Lucas Winfrey. My friend, Sherry Bush, said she received several copies from friends.
April 15 is around the corner. Hope you got your income tax filed.
I visited the Memorial Gardens Cemetery last week to put flowers on my family's graves. To my surprise, one of the brass vases was missing. I contacted David Haggard and he eased my pain. He said that they turn the empty vases upside down to prevent water from collecting in them. I really appreciated his assistance. Whew!
In closing, "We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing" by Playwright George Bernard Shaw.
