Some may remember the song, “I Love Those Dear Folk and Gentle People Who Live in My Hometown, back in the ‘50s.” So true! I encounter the nicest and friendliest people around town. Betty Fisk at Wal-Mart (photo dept.) is a very helpful technician there to help those who are technically illiterate.
Then there are the friendly, smiling women at the pay windows at DTC and Middle Tennessee Natural Gas. I called Jason Murphy, the "bug man" as I call him, the other night about some strange flies I had and he graciously told me what to do to combat them. Another friendly and helpful person is Allen at the Family Dollar Store and the friendly clerks at Dollar General and Sav-A-Lot. This is one advantage of living in a small town. Amen.
An apology to Jordan and Eli whom I had at Boys State in Murfreesboro. I was informed later that Boys State was in Cookeville. Sorry, boys!
Sympathy to the family of Jacob Billings, who died, in a fatal bicycle accident and to the family of Tammy Cook Knowles who died recently following a long illness. I have been friends with her mother, Billie Cook, and her sister, Johnny Hobson for many, many years.

Laughter echoed from the Justin Potter Library last week. According to Kathy Hendrixson, around 75 children gathered to hear Matt Sandbank, puppetier from Wild Goose Theater, thrill them with his puppet program. .
Want to share a good story as my summary. The sky had been looking ominous all day last Saturday but after a summer shower. I looked out the door and saw a beautiful, arched rainbow in the sky. Naturally, I called my sister to come view it. I wanted to look for the pot of gold but I decided to not chase rainbows. Amen. Have a nice June.
