I swallowed a plum!

I did something last week that I've never done before. We have a peach and plum tree and I was eating a plum one day for lunch. I must have been real hungry so all of a sudden, that plum seed slid down my throat. I tried to  regurgitate but no luck. I warned my family that a plum tree might grow out of my mouth!
Other Smithvillians seen around town during the Jamboree were  Tommy Reynolds, Patsy Swindle and granddaughter, Lounette Nicol, L.M. Murphy, and Fay and Bratton Tucker.
I travelled to Crossville last Sunday to present the Ingram Scholarship Awards at the Pomona Methodist Church. Rose and Paul Dillen accompanied me for the service and fellowship dinner afterwards. I also presented the children's message on "seashells" during the service. My husband was pastor at this church during the ‘80s.
Last Sunday afternoon, my great-great nephew, Robert celebrated his big second birthday at the home of his great-great grandparents, Charlotte and Laird Barnard. Present to enjoy cake and ice cream and viewing his many presents were his dad, Derek Driver and siblings, Kiana, Taylan and Kiera, grandparents, Robin and Kristy Driver and me.
Sherry Bush celebrated her birthday recently. Last Friday her grandson, William, of Knoxville celebrated dinner with her. Saturday found Sherry at Hillcrest celebrating again with friends, Fay Fuqua, Jerry Winfrey and Shirley.

Get-well wishes to Rev. Terry Little (recent surgery); Spencer Iverlett back home and Faye Iverlett; and my Aunt Helen Trusty in rehab in Lebanon following foot surgery and others who are ailing.
It's DeKalb County Fair week in Alexandria! I remember as a child my Dad taking me and letting me ride every ride, except the Ferris wheel. I don't like open heights! After some eating, I would sleep in the backseat going home.
It's nice to see Congress Boulevard paved. It looks really good.
This past Sunday found me on the road again to Lebanon. I met Marie Craighead recent widow of Rev. Billy Craighead with whom I worked as a Director Christian Education, at First Methodist. After renewing some friendships there and the worship service, we had lunch at Cracker Barrel.  Then I visited my Aunt Helen enroute home.
I had a two-day yard sale also last weekend. I have two philosophies on yard sales. One is to make a little money and two is to get rid of stuff. Bingo!
Upcoming birthday wishes to Delma Vanhooser Murphy in Georgia. I knew Delma before she was born. I remember waking up some mornings and finding Delma in bed with me. Dr. Vanhooser and Pauline had made a home visit late at night and dropped her off since we lived just around the corner from the clinic.
In closing, life with friends is (L)Light n' easy, (I)inspiring (F)full of hopes (E)enthusiasm
 Amen.
