Just a reminder that the Fall Bazaar at First Methodist on Nov. 4 still has room for consignor tables.  If you would like to set up a table for your crafts, handwork, collectibles, etc., give me a call at (615)653-1737.
Then, this weekend there will be a big, big yard sale at the Old Popcorn Factory on Miller Road.  There will be furniture, office and supplies, designer clothes, Christmas china,  leather handbags and much, much more.  Note the ad in this issue.
It's rewarding to visit old friends.  That's what Sherry Bush and I did last Tuesday.  We motored up to Crossville and visited a dear friend, Jaunita Loring Gilbert and her husband, Dean.  She stayed with the Chumbleys when she went to high school here and then, I worked with her at Webb's Drug Store for many years.   The Gilberts treated us to a delicious lunch at Manny's and Isabella's Restaurant at Fair Field Glade.
Their caregiver, Linda, drove us down there.  Jaunita has had some health problems, recently, so a visit was long overdue. Get- well wishes to her.
It's time to reduce, reuse and recycle. It is interesting to note that recycled paper comes back to us in computer paper.  Plastic bottles can be made into many things, such as fences, picnic tables, birdfeeders, tee shirts, jackets and who knows what else?It actually takes less energy to make new aluminum cans from the old ones than from new material.  There is a place at the courthouse on the ground floor for old paper and aluminum cans, so take your items there and save the planet from all this garbage.
We visited our friends at Martha's Vineyard about 15 years ago and recycling was a big thing there and very popular.  It seems that we need to get serious about this problem for our enviromental future. So folks, don't throw your paper or bottles on the side of the road.  Remember to recycle, not garbage! Please!
Don't stop laughing because you get old.  Because you get old because you stop laughing.  THINK ABOUT IT!
 Amen.
