Smithville Elementary presented an inspiring program in honor of the veterans last Friday in their auditorium. Under the direction of Music Director Kelly Birmingham, the children sang patriotic songs. The veterans were recognized and honored. Many parents and families were present. Most of the children wore red, white and blue.
Bertha McBride was honored on her birthday last week. Those remembering and honoring her at White Possum were Mary Colwell, Bob and Jeanene Pettis, Reba Prince, Barry and Ginny Miller and Mary LeFevre.  She is a real sweet, kind lady. She shared with me her family history, which she had written in poetry.
Meanwhile, Fay Fuqua and Charlotte Barnard motored down to visit and have lunch with a dear friend, Fay Iverlette, last Friday. They have been longtime friends.
Met a writer last week at Webb's Drug Store on Annette's side. Koko Nervelli was there to promote her recent books. Nice to meet another free lance writer.
Get-well wishes to Walter Burton. Jeanette France and John Loeb at the Webb House.
Sympathy to the family of Claudette Frazier Lasser and to Miranda Waggoner in the death of her grandfather, Bobby Ward in Brownsville, Tennessee.
Celebrating a birthday in November is Imajean Cantrell, my neighbor.
A group of Sr. Angels met for lunch after church last Sunday and motored to Woodbury to see the drama, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat."  Those enjoying the play were: Frank and Mary Colwell, Rose and Paul Dillen, Anne and Bob Morse, Becky Davis, Barbara Thompson, Shirley Ingram, David Colwell, T.M. and Juanita Hooper, and Char and  Doug Ward.
A Smithvillian, Josh Isaac, portrayed one of Joseph's brothers in this production. It was an excellent play and worth seeing. Call the Playhouse for reservations, 1-800-235-9073.
The Holiday Craft Bazaar will be Nov. 30, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Our prayers to the residents in the Phillipines with the typhoon that hit there.
Closing thought: "Remember, the greatest gift is not found under a tree, but in the hearts of true friends." -Dr. Seuss.
 Amen.
