Speaking of birthdays, my family gathered at my house last Friday to celebrate my  young(?) birthday. We had cake and ice cream, and I blew every candle out. Then I got to open some nice, needed gifts.  I got a big wall clock, three flashlights and a lantern. I am wondering if there is some signifance in all these light gifts. I received 21 birthday cards from friends whom I know in other towns and local. Nice to be remembered. Thanks a lot!
Thanks to Wanda Poss and her loyal members for hosting the Candidates Dinner last week at the Sr. Citizen Center. After a delicious dinner, each candidate had six minutes to speak. I was invited to attend by my friend, Elaine Craighead, to support her son, Tony Craighead of Cookeville, who is a candidate for district attorney.
