Whew! Viewing the recent storm damage around town is devastating!
Large trees with deep roots and large branches can be seen everywhere, especially on West Main and College Streets. The city crew worked long hours afterwards. Now there is a tinge of fall in the air, especially in the mornings. Have you stored your white slacks and white shoes away. I don't know where this tradition began about not wearing white clothes after Labor Day.

A 9/11 Service will be held at First Methodist on Sept. 11 in memory of this event, a tragedy for our country. The public is invited at 7 p.m.

Earth Day is this week to remind us to recycle our waste. If we don't recycle,our garbage is going to remind us that we should take better care of our planet.
Becky Roberts, the Adm. Asst. at First Methodist, celebrated Labor Day weekend in Michigan to attend a Family Picnic. This was the family's 13th year to have this event. It was good, Becky stated, to see family and old friends.
Wesley Carpenter also accompanied Becky.
It has come to my attention that there are a lot of us who have returned to our hometown to retire. Call me to tell why you made this decision. Thanks.
