Okay, I read in last week’s paper that the online poll says we need more money for our deputies! Ninety five percent of those who voted for pay increases are my kinda people! Now, start talking to your friends about the need for more police protection, as well as better pay.
“The times, they are a changin,” said a hippie poet/musician back in the 60’s. And, we all know the times are not "changin" for the better. We have housing going into the tank, China buying our bonds, many tied to real estate. We have the price of food going up faster than gas, and milk already higher per gallon, every possible terrorist in the Mid East taking over once stable governments (Admitting that those governments were bought and paid for by us). Not our best efforts at (Diplomacy? Control?) Who knows? It’s history now. The cost of energy is going up almost daily and monthly, and the United States Government absolutely will not protect us from every energy-rich country on the planet, by turning lose the mining and drilling that would save this country from the inevitable step into the third word situation that Europe now finds itself in. We have riots, hunger, radicals, and all sorts of "Hate" being directed at government's everywhere.
This is why we need better police protection, and I never even got into the Mid Tennessee crime thats rising. Things are changing so fast with all the hate being spit out by every religion, government, every political afilliation, every neighbor and with every stranger.
Oddly enough, I guess in some ways those my age probably had a hand in the way this new world is going. With so many things changing so fast and so often, and no one actually in control of our future, I guess you could say life is getting kinda scary. Another reason we need more police protection is that, as our county continues to grow and expand, soon we'll be another LaVergne, overcrowded and considered to be a good place to move from. No doubt, I'll be where I'm supposed to be. I’m kind of looking forward to that!
That storm that blew through today out of the Northeast put most of my corn to sleep. Of course, if I was that skinny, I guess I'd laid down too. I’ve been putting food up for awhile; not as much as I'd like, But there's always a bigger space to plant next year. Canning and eating, eating and canning, not a bad time of year. And I'll tell you, a tomato the size of a slice of bread, some mayo, salt and pepper and a little cajun spice; Whooee. That makes the very best lunch you can have! Tell me I'm wrong.
I’m sorry to say that my musing was a little serious, but we really are going to see changes coming that in no way is the way we want our lives to be. We have to support higher pay for our deputies, and begin trying to find a way and the money to put more deputies in the field, cause folks, we're going to need them.
So take care of those you love and hold dear, eat fresh as much as you can, work hard and keep your eyes open, and you'll see, hear and feel all the good and bad that He's sending our way....Smile; this could be Tuesday and you're not really reading this....See-ya.
Things are changing
