Many things can happen in a week.
In Joplin, MO entire neighborhoods were wiped out. One-hundred forty-two are dead with dozens missing and unaccounted for from a tornado three-miles wide.
There was sadness in this giant twister which demolished a high school and a hospital. Search and resque squads found on the dead.
Courage, hope an faith of the volunteers and family members were evident. This tragedy united people.
The mayor of Joplin said that they will rebuild. Our prayers are with them.
In Yellowstone National Park a five-inch snow has covered the park.
In our own DeKalb County, a storm or tornado caused much damage on College Street to county historian Tommy Webb and Audrey’s home. Damage was also done to Glynn and Peggy Hendrixson’s house. Many other trees were uprooted along this area. We pray for all these people who are recovering from storm damage.
Much damage was done on McMinnville Highway to the BP Station, a restaurant and county building.
Mr. and Mrs. Todd Nuckels, Sam, Christopher and William, Florence, Al., and Mr. Henry and Natalie Frazier, Huntsville, Al. attended the wedding of Mack and Jean Harney’s granddaughter in Nashville Saturday. This was the daughter of Mary Harney.
The group soent the night at Barbar and Todd’s country farm. They ate Saturday dinner with Louise Frazier.
Other guests were Roger and Kathy Hendrix, Jared Hendrix, Jimmy and Judy Kimbrell, David and Monica Reynolds.
Lisa Cripps visited in the afternoon. Roger Hendrix grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.Judy Kimbrell made baked beans and roasted potatoes. Tomatoes and mushmellon were also served. All enjoyed a holiday of fun, food and fellowship.
Dry Creek had a special Memorial weekend service Sunday morning. We say “thank youu: to  all of our mena nd women service people who have served this country with honor.
Dry Creek Baptist will have a one-day vacation bible school June 11 from 9am until 3pm. Homecoming will be June 26 with former pastor adn friend Bro. Dave Carden preaching for the occasion.
Bro. Donald Owens was released from Dr. Neely on Thurs. We are thankful for God’s healing power.
