The Amen Corner

This is the week that our small town becomes a melting pot for the 45th annual Jamboree and Crafts Festival. This was a vision of our Congressman, Joe L. Evins and Berry Williams a staff member of Congressman Joe L. Evins put this event together with the assistance of local city and county leaders. Glad to see the Souvenir Book dedicated to Dwayne Page, long time WJLE station manager.

As most people know the streets will be full of vendors selling food and crafts. The fellowship building of the First United Methodist Church will be serving food and features clean restrooms.

The Community Chorus will once again be singing under the direction of Faye Fuqua on Friday evening.

Another event during this week end will be the reunion of the High School Sisters at the home of Faye Nixon. These girls started out in first grade together and graduated in the early 1950’s together.

Get well wishes to Jerry Williams, Laird Barnard, Vicky Burton, Kelly Vaughn, Lloyd Jenkins, Debbie Shattuck, Martha Moore, and Judy Robbins.

Sympathy to the family of Don Redmon and the West Virginia flood victims.

Kick up your heels and see you at the Jamboree.
