Those little grape hyacinths are blooming

News from the Mountain

By: Carol Gunter

Another rainy day up here on the mountains. At least we’ve got temperatures in the seventies. Over the weekend the temperature to drop back down into the fifties and you know that really won’t be too bad on us. It’s the thirties or the twenties for highs that I can hardly bear.

Those little grape hyacinths are blooming here there and it seems everywhere at “Aubrey’s” mom and dad’s place. They are blooming, out also at the cemetery where “John”, Aubrey’s dad planted them a few decades ago. I have to smile when I see them and remember the joy John had in planting them there. It’s funny how even the smallest of things can bring happiness to your mind when thinking back on those memories of your loved ones that are not here anymore. Knowing that your loved ones made it to their heavenly home to be with Jesus for eternity the icing to the cake.

We decide over fate in this life by accepting Jesus, God’s son or turning our backs on Him. So many people not thinking about the hereafter. They are only concentrating on themselves and what will best benefit them. Jesus will be coming back someday. That you can count on and take it to the bank. You may think you’re a smart person but when you think this world is going to go on just like it is without any interruption to shake its very foundation to the core with Christ’s returning, you are just fooling yourself.

I know it’s hard to give up the sinful life you are living, because I’ve been where you are myself. Not a positive outcome for you if you choose to stay with the devil and do his bidding. To have Jesus as your Savior very simple. Ask Him for forgiveness of your sins and one day when you die you’ll be in heaven for eternity, rather than hell where you will burn for eternity. Remember Jesus loves you the devil hates you and wants to destroy you. All the grandeur of heaven awaits you when you choose Jesus. Please don’t put off accepting Jesus. None of us know when we will die. We need to be prepared when our time is up here. Best day of my life was when I accepted Jesus. My life had purpose when I surrendered it to Jesus.

Please keep in prayer: the family of Danny Cantrell and be praying for: Louise Foster, Charlie Mai Daniel, Ronald Lawson, Dr. J.C. Wall, Ethelene Pedigo, Helen Nixon, Peggy Caldwell, Jeanette Smithson, and the families that have lost loved ones in the tornadoes that hit Middle Tennessee.

Be praying also they find a cure for the coronavirus that become a pandemic and has killed so many people.
