A MANNER OF SPEAKING: A text or email used to thank someone for a gift or an action is absolutely not the same as a handwritten note. That’s the easy way out and it is not approved for etiquette. Anything handwritten is approved as an infallible gesture.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN: My son Jim also is an attorney as was my dad, McAllen Foutch. Just recently, he had a land boundary lawsuit in Cannon County. He sent me a text with the following information: “Look who first researched this.” It was my dad when the late George LaFevre was affiliated with him in his law office, located on South Third Street, downtown Smithville – many years ago. Jim’s text was “Have a two-day boundary suit in Cannon County this week with lots of deeds.” I believe that Jim won his boundary case on that day. His McDaddy would have been so proud, as I always am.
WEEKLY LUCY UPDATE: In our daily telephone conversation last Tuesday, Luce said strongly, “I’m gonna be brave.” After inquiring why, she said, “I’m having two teeth pulled today and I’m gonna do it without being sedated.” Proud of the little girlie. Tuesday Update: Because of the teeth joining her sinus cavity, her oral surgeon ordered sedation. Regardless, I’m still proud of the little devil. At least she tried!
BRADY’S BARK: Talk about a heart-wrencher. When I journey into another room, Brady always brings me a token of his love – usually a chicken-treat. I had forgotten to give him a treat earlier in the day and he was completely out. So, my little buddy improvised. He brought me a piece of his peppermint candy stash! I saved it. It almost broke my heart. If eyes and hearts could only talk.
WORD OF THE WEEK: FOIBLE. A noun meaning a minor weakness or eccentricity in someone’s character.
Until next week, BE NICE!
