Funeral services for John W. Alford, 73, of Smithville were held April 26 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.
Bro. Wallace Caldwell officiated, with burial following in Welker Cemetery in Manchester.
He passed away April 23 at DeKalb Community Hospital ER.
He was born April 6, 1942 to the late John Robert and Ludie Inez Baltimore Alford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Howell Alford.
He attended Bright Hill United Methodist Church, and was retired from the City of Smithville.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda Alford of Smithville; two sons, Wesley Nathaniel (Cindy) Alford and Sandy Lee (Toni) Alford both of Manchester; one daughter, Christine (Ted) Stoffell of Manchester; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard (Jean) Alford and Kenneth Alford both of Manchester; one sister, Peggy (Richard) Arnold of Manchester; one half-brother, Terry (Dale) Shelton of Manchester; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers included; Richard Arnold,Jr., Phillip Estes, Russell Estes, Jerry Freeze, and Ryan Pursell.
