Funeral services for Alice Louise Cox, 79, of Smithville, were held Jan. 11 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Dan Gulley officiated with burial following in Salem Cemetery.    
Mrs. Cox passed away Jan. 7 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was the manager of Furrs Cafeteria, a homemaker and affiliated with Smithville Church of Christ.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mittie Tackett Wilson; husband, Jesse E. Cox; a son, Gary Eugene Cox; two sisters; a brother; and a granddaughter, Mandy Cartwright.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Cartwright and Debra Robertson, both of Smithville; a son, Stanley (Judy) Cox of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jesse Cox of Smithville, Bridget (Bob) Hailey of Oklahoma, Andrea Barton of Oklahoma and Erica Cox of Smithville; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Preston of Amarilo, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Shane Orlando, Victor Wilson, Stanley Cox, Jesse Cox, Marshall Bryant and Ben Orlando.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
