Auval Estes Atnip, 88, of Smithville passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22 at his residence.

He was retired from TRW, a veteran, and a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hascal and Lillie Atnip; wife, Mentie Young Atnip; five brothers and sisters, and granddaughter, Toni Davis.

Survivors include five children, Austin Atnip, Brenda and Ricky Adams, Patricia Wright, Lillie Mairene, Tracy Bowman, and Sherry and Terry O’Neil; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and loving caregivers and family Don and Melinda Williams.

Funeral service was conducted Friday, Aug. 24 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Mike Clayborn officiated with burial following in the Mt. Holly Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were William Jones, Jeremy Foster, Brian Foster, Gary Bowman, Corey Adams and Barry Atnip.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
