Barbara Armbruster, 89

Mrs. Barbara Elisabeth Armbruster, 89, of Watertown died April 10 at NHC Healthcare, Smithville.
Mrs. Armbruster was born November 6, 1921, the daughter of the late Robert Atwood and Eva Nancy Roberts Creighton.
She was married to Carleton F. Armbruster on June 21, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her Daughter; Nancy Mullican.
After grauduating from business college in 1960, her family moved from Conn. to Fla. where she worked for Boeing in data processing on the Minuteman Program until its conclusion. She then worked as a secretary for Harvey’s Groves until her retirement.
After her husband’s retirement from O.V.C. in 1985, they bought a farm in Watertown to live out their dream of life in the country. She loved watching the birds, deer, and other wildlife on the farm. Because of declining heatlth, she spent her last three months under the loving care of nurses and staff at NHC Healthcare in Smithville.
Mrs. Armbruster is survived by her three sons, Robert C. (Jerry) Armbruster, Sr. of Merritt Island, Fla., Roger Thomas Armbruster of Watertown and Gary (Pat) Armbruster of Merritt Island, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Armbruster was held at the Avant Funeral Home, Alexandria on April 14 with Bro. Hal Adcock, officiating.
Avant Funeral Home of Alexandria was in charge of the arrangements.
