Barbara “Bobbie” Katherine Loring Johnson, a beloved aunt, sister and friend to many left this world to be with Jesus on May 2, 2023 at the age of 78. She was born on January 11, 1945, in Smithville, Tennessee and was the wife of the late Billy Lynn “Bill” Johnson; daughter of the late Jaunita Loring Brown-Gilbert, Dean Gilbert, Frank Brown and Jack Loring; her brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Johnson. 

She is survived by her sister, Dianna Loring Cantrell (Zane); her niece, Sonya Cantrell King (Phil); her nephew, Greg Cantrell (Fonda), Bobbie Dee Brown Huddleston (Paul); her great nieces and nephews, Ashleigh King, Daly Cantrell Knowlton (Connor), Jennifer Johnson (Matt), Kim Esser (Keefe), Garrett King (Emma), Zane Cantrell, Clay Huddleston; her great-great nieces and nephews, Forest, Hallie, Aliyah and Sylvia and her sister-in-law, Sandra Johnson.

Bobbie grew up in Smithville, moved to Detroit Michigan and met the love of her life, Bill Johnson. They were married and lived in Athens, Tennessee for 32 years until Bill’s untimely death. Bobbie worked at Kroger, JC Penny and was a housewife for many years. The last 10 years, she has been living in Murfreesboro.

Bobbie adored her family and friends. She dressed very nicely everyday with pearls and earrings. She enjoyed sports, was a wonderful cook, life of parties, always smiling, and loved all of her numerous animals she had over the years. She made an impact on many lives and cherished the time when people would visit her. She loved playing Bingo with Bill Schwartz and her friends at Harmony. Special thank-you to her cousins, friends from Smithville, Harmony and Amedisys Hospice for the support, love, and care over the last several years.

Celebration of Bobbie’s Life will be Monday, May 22, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with visitation at 10:00am, service at 11am, followed by a luncheon at the church. She will be laid to rest with her beloved Bill Johnson on May 23, 2023, at McMinn Memory Gardens in Athens, Tennessee at 1:00pm. Family and friends are welcomed to attend.

She will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
