Barbara Jean Eller Lawson, 85

Barbara Jean Eller Lawson, 85, of Fairhope, Alabama, and formerly Columbia, Tenn., passed away at Bethany Health & Rehab Center in Nashville Wednesday, March 20.
Mrs. Lawson was born Nov. 1, 1927 to the late Robert Eller and Gracie Lentz Eller. She was preceaded in death by her husband, William Dewitt Lawson.
Barbara was an elementary school teacher and also served as the director of the Gifted Program in Maury County schools. She attended First United Methodist Church in Columbia and also Fairhope Christian Church in Fairhope, Alabama. She was called the “Fairhope Hat Lady” because she loved her hats. She loved seafood, cookbooks, and especially her church.
Barbara graduated from DeKalb County High School in 1947.
A memorial service for Mrs. Lawson was held March 26, 2013 at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., with Bro. Scott Aleridge officating.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Lawson Norris of Fairhope, Ala.; son, Robert D. (Elaine) Lawson of Nashville; four granddaughters, four grandsons and eigh great-grandchildren.
The grandsons served as pallbearers.
