Keaton

Barbara Dell Keaton age 79 of Short Mountain Community passed away Monday morning October 10, 2016 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville.

She was born January 8, 1937 to the late John and Nora Fuson Johnson. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Keaton; 2 brothers: Charlie Johnson, Virgil Johnson; Sister: Lorene Hale. 

Ms. Keaton was retired from Federal Mogul and a member of Covenant Baptist Church. 

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Bros. Leonard Herman and Mike Satterfield officiated with burial following in the Mt. Holly Cemetery. 

Survivors include 2 children Steve (Tonya) Keaton of Baxter, Christie Brown of Smithville; Grandchildren: Cody Keaton, Corey Tate, Jack Brown, Seamus Brown; Sisters: Mary Jane Johnson, Violet Pack, Christine Tramel all of Smithville; Brother: A.C. (Elizabeth) Johnson of Smithville; Several nieces and nephew also survive. 

Pallbearers included: Cody Keaton, Corey Tate, Jack Brown, Seamus Brown, Johnny Pack, and Danny Hale.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Johnson, Larry Johnson, Ronnie Tramel, and Nelson Duke.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
