Funeral services for Regina Hope Cantrell Bates, 61, of Smithville were held June 10 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

 

Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following in Keltonburg Cemetery.

 

She passed away June 8 at NHC Healthcare Center of an extended illness.

 

She was born August 29, 1953 to the late Lee and Dean Hall Cantrell.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Olivia Grace Taylor; sister, Darlene Haas.

 

She was a factory worker and was a member of the Smithville Church of the Nazarene.

 

She is survived by two children, Cindy (Ken) Taylor of Smithville and Freddy Summers and companion Darlene Grisham of Dowelltown; four grandchildren, Shauna, Abbi and Kenlee Taylor and Devin Summers; three brothers, Jerry Lee (Jane) Cantrell of Smithville, Ronnie (Judy) Cantrell of McMinnville, and Phillip (Marilyn) Cantrell of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Pallbearers included; Scott Cantrell, Nick Cantrell, Chris Cantrell, Jeff Cantrell, Robbie Cantrell, Marty Davis, and Patrick Davis.

 

Honorary Pallbearer: Shannon Cantrell

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with Funeral Expenses, in memory of Regina.
